    Item Description
    This offering is a very nice 10" drawknife marked "Watrous Co.".  The unique thing about the knife is the method of holding the handles in place.  Richard N Watrous was granted US Patent No 18,877 in 1857 for this design.  It is not clear exactly who made the drawknife, but  Noble's Mfg. (1857-1876) made a drawknife with this patent date and later Jennings & Co (1901) advertised that they were the exclusive manufacturer of tools made under the "Watrous Co" and "Noble's MFG" trade names.  Jennings operated until 1921. Drawknives with this markings do seem to be uncommon.  See the photos for details about the drawknife condition.
