About this vehicle
This 2005 Saab 9-2X is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver.
Seller's Notes
Due to the high mileage, it’s probably not worth overhauling the motor. The remainder of the car is mechanically sound due to mostly freeway driving and the interior is in good condition due to lack of pets/children/passengers. The sunroof, seat heaters, 6-disc changer stereo, power mirrors, cruise control, power windows, fog lights, and rear window wiper all function. Only add-on is a Stromung axle back for that classic sound. Never modded, chipped, or driven on a track. It is such a pleasure driving this car my goal was to reach 300,000 or drive it until a major mechanical failure happened, and it recently did. Thx for looking. These are rare and specials cars, I'm thankful for 13 incredible years of driving one. Shame to donate or junk it.
Vehicle Details
Rare 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero with 5-speed manual transmission and 17-inch wheels.
6-disc changer, cloth seats, cold weather package, sunroof. Original motor and transmission.
Cons: no compression in cylinder 1: it still runs, but very rough, good enough to drive onto a tow truck
slow oil leak at oil filter connector
very slow power steering leak
left rear door dented and does not open (but window functions), see picture
hood right front corner dented, see picture
faded paint on hood scoop and rear panel, see picture
Pros:
>80% freeway miles, very well maintained
interior plastics not faded, cracked, or scratched since no children, pets, or passengers, and always used sunshade
all items and lights function (sunroof, seat heaters, 6-disc changer stereo, power mirrors, cruise control, power windows, fog lights, and rear window wiper)
suspension and steering feel solid
tires installed at 265K, Sumitomo HTR A/S P02
Pair of new OEM front struts and the original muffler included (Stromung axleback currently installed, see picture)
History: 2nd owner, I purchased it as a lease return in early 2008 from Ellis Brooks Chevrolet, it had 24,000 miles then. Used to commute from San Francisco to San Carlos, 60 miles daily, >80% freeway. Only Mobil1 synthetic and Shell premium gas. I’ve kept all repair and maintenance bills, including for the oil changes. No modifications or track days. I purchased a second car a few years ago but due to street cleaning I still drove the Saab to work at least twice a week until the recent engine problem.
These are rare and so are the body panels and many other parts. I don’t have a garage or the knowledge to overhaul or replace the motor.
